Supernatural: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
6. Season Three
Season three could have been a lot higher on this list if it had had a more streamlined story and more episodes. But none of its issues were really avoidable, as the 2007 writers strike caused the season to be much shorter and less planned than others in the show.
But even then, what we got was pretty spectacular. Despite the narrative uncertainty, seeing Dean's soul dragged to Hell was a powerful, horrific arc, and between the dark groundhog day structure of "Mystery Spot" and the unforgettable finale, the show's third season saw Supernatural more at ease with itself, comfortable and willing to take some risks.
It's let down by the unfortunately wonky storytelling, but even with the obstacles, the season is nonetheless one of the show's all-time best, and certainly one of its most iconic and fun.
