Taboo Season 2: Everything We Know

6. Who's Involved?

Taboo Show Tom Hardy
FX Productions

Taboo was created by Tom and Edward 'Chips' Hardy, the father and son team serving as the show's executive producers. The story was conceived by them and written by Stephen Knight, the Peaky Blinders show runner and lead writer. Along with Ridley Scott, legendary British film director and founder of Scott Free Productions, Taboo is run by three major players in the film and television industry.

While distributed in the UK by the BBC, international and US distribution has been handled by media powerhouse FX Productions, the company behind some of the last decades most ambitious television series, such as Sons Of Anarchy and The Shield. Joint distribution placed Taboo in a prime position, although the delay in season two's production may be due to a drop in numbers during the show's initial run and the busy schedules of Hardy and Knight.

VOD, however, has given Taboo a push in the right direction and viewers are still discovering the drama for the first time on the BBC iPlayer. Expect the surviving cast to return then with the original creators and producers - Knight, Scott and Hardy have all expressed their willingness and enthusiasm to return for a second and third series. All that remains is the addition of some fresh blood in the cast and new directors for future instalments.
