The 10 Best Acted Scenes Of Game Of Thrones Season 8
1. Cersei And Jaime Faced With Death
Lena Headey truly reminds us of her status as one of the show’s finest actors in her final moments.
Having spent all of season 8 thus far staring strongly out of a tower window or teasing Euron Greyjoy with power, her fear takes over in a way that no one has seen before, clinging onto Jaime with terrified unblinking eyes repeating “I don’t like this” like a child faced with going on their first rollercoaster.
The level of anguish Cersei experiences when faced with her own mortality humanises her to a level previously unseen. We’ve seen Cersei struck with worry and grief over the lives of her children before, but never for her own life.
As she trembles uncontrollably, the audience goes through a strange paradox of emotions, having rooted against her role as queen for seasons only to empathise with her in her final moments when struck down by the queen we were supposed to be rooting for all this time.
This scene is truly the epitome of why the acting on Game of Thrones is some of the finest TV has ever seen, or even ever will see again.
