The Bad Batch: 10 Things We Learned From The Trailer

There are a number of planets that are shown in brief shots during the first Bad Batch trailer, but there is one that sticks out in particular that fans have identified as Zygeria.

Zygeria featured in a Clone Wars arc that focused on the planet’s slave industry. We see a shot of Hunter fighting a Zygerian with a light-whip, the Bad Batch running from one of their winged creatures, and other landscape shots of a city that resembles the same architecture previously seen in The Clone Wars.

It makes sense that the Zygerians make a reappearance in The Bad Batch. While the Republic would not have stood for their slave trade, the Empire would be more likely to lean on them to provide a quick workforce to build their new Empire. In the Clone Wars arc, Count Dooku is sent to negotiate with their Queen on the orders of his master, Darth Sidious to begin this process.

"Sith Empires have long been built on the backs of slave," Sidious tells him. In The Bad Batch we would see that starting to take shape.
