The Boys Season 3: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
6. Soldier Boy
As the latest addition to The Boys' large character roster, Soldier Boy's debut was met with a lot of fan anticipation, not least because he's played by Supernatural's Jensen Ackles and acts as a striking mirror to the sadistic, self-centred ways of Homelander, who later turns out (dun, dun, dun!) to be his son.
The all-American superhero starts the season as a memory, once the face of Vought whose beloved persona hid a cruel and violent man. He's later awakened from a cryogenic sleep in Russia by Butcher and The Boys, and as he adjusts to life again works to hunt down and destroy his old, traitorous team.
Armed with darkly comical wit, the ability to take the powers from other supes, and severe PTSD which makes him both unpredictable and paranoid, Soldier Boy is given plenty of opportunity to steal the show, and add great depth to the characters around him (especially Homelander, Butcher, and Hughie).
The season ends with him beaten and back in stasis, but there's no doubt he'll be back; Soldier Boy is simply too good to leave out in the cold.
