5. Mike Murdock - Daredevil S1

Back in the first season of Daredevil, Claire Temple repeatedly forgets Matt's name and refers to him as "Mike". It's a great little in-joke that calls back to a strange moment in Daredevil comics history.

In the distant past, the comic writers preposterously decided to introduce Mike Murdock - Matt's supposed twin (who wasn't blind), and who was a far bigger douchebag than his brother. Obviously, there was no twin, and Mike was just Matt dressed up, letting him channel the more obnoxious character traits he had to otherwise suppress.

Inevitably, fans didn't exactly respond well to him and "Mike" was killed off.
