The Flash: Ranking Every Major Death Worst To Best
1. Nora West-Allen/XS
Nora West-Allen was a breath of fresh air. She brought a positive attitude and happy demeanor that the show desperately needed, and seeing her go was tragic for characters and audiences alike. And while she was all those things, she was also complicated and had her own unique motives.
At her heart, she's just a daughter who wants to get to know her superpowered father, but in her efforts to do so, she wanders down a dark path. Nora spends the majority of her time trying to prevent her father's death, even going as far as to help Barry's greatest nemesis, the Reverse-Flash, escape prison. Unfortunately, the destruction of Cicada's dagger effectively erases Nora and her timeline. Though her parents plead for her to save herself by entering the Negative Speed Force, XS refuses, sacrificing herself, knowing that the negative speed force would corrupt her.
While it can be argued that much of her problems are situations she created for herself, that is not unlike what many heroes do. Many of the 'good guys' have either created the problem or villain they are facing. What makes this death so meaningful is that West-Allen truly learns what it means to be a hero. Instead of saving herself, Nora stays true to the legacy of the Flash and her family.
