The Flash Season 2: 11 Big Questions We're Asking After 'Fast Lane'
2. Will They Be Able To Make Zoom A Convincing Villain In Longer Appearances?
Zoom has the potential to be an excellent villain, but he hasn't lived up to that yet. There was an awful lot of promise and excitement after Enter Zoom, when he completely battered the Flash, but since then his brief appearances have left a lot to be desired, particularly due to an uninteresting motive and indeed due to a general lack of his being around. He's pretty good when he shows up this week, albeit just for a fleeting moment. Maybe it was just in stark contrast to such a poor villain-of-the-week, but he did at least feel threatening in his conversation with Wells. What the show now needs to do is prove that he can be interesting and a real threat over a prolonged period. They can't just constantly keep him in the background, and now that we're past the halfway mark, they really need to make us start caring about this villain. They managed it perfectly in Season 1, so here's hoping they can eventually find a way of matching their own high standards in the coming weeks.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
