The Flash Season 3: 7 Ups And 2 Downs From 'Paradox'

1. Consequences

Finally! Finally Barry seems to be getting it!

It seems as if after many foolish, over-eager, at-times selfish decisions, there are now some serious consequences to the actions of Barry Allen.

Up until now, the mantra of the Scarlet Speedster has often been to have a look at going back in time to fix a problem should any major issues arise. Not only has he done this for problems based on himself, he’s even done this last season to prevent the death of the Green Arrow.

But even though Barry’s changed the present several times now, it’s only now that the show is really letting us see that there really are consequences to Barry’s actions. It’s about time that it’s not all happy endings and instantly back to a sense of normalcy, and so seeing Barry struggling with what he himself has done, problems he himself has created, is a much-needed change of pace for the show.

And as ever, this is something that will only further help to shape the hero that Barry is and will go on to become in the future.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010. In addition to his current WhatCulture role of Senior Content Producer, Andrew previously spent nearly a decade as Online Editor and Lead Writer for the world's longest-running genre publication, Starburst Magazine, and his work has also been featured on BBC, TechRadar, Tom's Guide, WhatToWatch, Sportkskeeda, and various other outlets, in addition to being a Rotten Tomatoes-approved film critic.
