1. The Arrival Of Ralph's Mother Felt Underdeveloped

The episode's tertiary arc saw Ralph Dibney and Cecile Horton team up to help the former's colourful mother prove that she was innocent in a recent robbery case, and while it successfully accomplished that, the whole thing felt rather off.

It started off with the typical in-your-face comedic tone we've come to expect from Ralph-centric stories before descending into a rather poignant tale about how a mother, in spite of her flaws, loved her son so much that she was willing to lie to him to protect him.

Now, there were definitely some great moments here, but the fact that we had never heard of this woman before now undercut the authentic feeling that the storyline was attempting to create. And, more than that, it was annoying to see Cecile dropped mid-way through the story when she proved herself a real asset in last week's instalment.

Now, for the positives...
