With so much going on in this episode, there were some scenes that were rightly given more time than others. But not all of them received the length that they may have deserved.

Before the orcs invade the village, Bronwyn spends these final peaceful moments with her son and Arondir. Although it was nice to see them each have an emotional moment with her, this was over all too quickly.

What made this a tragedy was seeing how long it took to see Bronwyn and Arondir finally embrace one another, only to end as soon as it began with a quick smooch. The tension that was built between the two was a slow ride, that quickly came straight back down to a disappointingly quick moment.

She spent more time with him than her own son, who spends most of the episode away from her, so they have very little engagement. This and her intimate moment with the elf felt as though they were mostly used to set up the tension for the scenes to follow.
