The Mandalorian 2.7 Review - 6 Ups And 1 Down From Chapter 15
5. The Redemption Of Migs Mayfeld
Bill Burr's Migs was a fun enough character in Season 1, but I don't think anyone was begging for him to come back.
But, lo and behold, that's where this episode really managed to surprise.
Burr turns in a great performance and we get to see more of Migs' backstory. We learn more about his time as an agent of the Empire, his general apathy towards the wider galactic struggle between the Imperial Remnant and the New Republic, and then an incredible moment of redemption where he finally takes revenge on an officer who treated Migs and his fellow troops like Bantha fodder during Operation Cinder. (Think Schultz's outburst in Django Unchained, only the results are less dire.)
Migs is released at the end, thanks to some "creative accounting" from Cara and Din, but I hope this isn't the last we've seen of him. He had a great arc in this one episode, and he'd be an interesting presence to have in the upcoming Rangers of the New Republic spin-off.
