The Mandalorian Season 2: 10 Things That NEED To Happen

Wait, so is Ahsoka the ruler of Mandalore or not?

So The Mandalorian paid off big time, huh?

Sure the Star Wars fandom, for all its line drawing and hem hawing, can still be relied upon to make something a million dollars, but the fact that The Mandalorian got as much wide praise as it did is still a welcome reprieve. It should come as no surprise that the show was green-lit for a second season very quickly into its first. But of course, that leaves us with a very important question: what now?

Oh sure, we know what the goal of season 2 is gonna be - find Baby Yoda's people and find out more about him, but what's going to happen along the way has been kept mostly completely secret.

But thankfully, enough has been released about the upcoming season - beloved characters returning played by actors that you WANT to see play these characters, among other details - that we can solidly speculate on what should definitely happen come season 2.

There's no guarantee that the points in this article will actually be met, but there's a pretty good chance that they're all at least on the minds of Filoni and his team. And they all NEED to happen in some form or capacity.

10. Din And Moff Gideon's Rematch

The biggest "Oh sh*t" moment in the finale of season 1 was learning that Moff Gideon somehow got his hands on the darksaber. Convinced that Din had taken out the Imperial officer, we were instead bombarded with the cliffhanger ending of Gideon carving his way out with the eponymous weapon that fans hadn't seen since Star Wars Rebels.

Now, the last time anyone saw the darksaber was when Sabine handed it off to Bo Katan in Rebels. So how Gideon could have gotten his hands on it is anyone's guess since I highly doubt a weenie like Gideon could take on one of the most dangerous women in the Star Wars canon.

There are many theories rolling around the internet, but we won't know for sure until the second season drops. One thing that IS for sure, though, is that Din and Gideon are definitely going to cross blasters again.

This being right after Return of the Jedi, I imagine Gideon's oversized ego has taken its fair share of bruises from the Empire falling apart around him. No way is he gonna take being humiliated by some nomadic Mandalorian barbarian and his sentient plush toy lying down.
