6. Love Triangles

Andy, Erin and Pete. Oscar, Angela and Senator Lipton. These aren't my favourite stories in The Office's history to say the least, but they definitely do need to be resolved before the end. Pete's infatuation with Erin reminds this viewer of Jim's early scenes with Pam, however I dont feel that quite the same magic and chemistry is there. It doesnt help that Andys strange disappearance during this season has meant that he hasnt been there to be a catalyst in creating any friction. At the time of writing, Andy is due back within the next few episodes so I expect this story to pick up steam and draw to a satisfying conclusion. But, how will it end? Im not sure that Erin is a character who would make a rash decision like ending her relationship with Andy to be with Pete, but maybe Andys aforementioned disappearance from Scranton might be a big reason why she does. The love triangle between Oscar, Angela and the Senator is quite different. As we now know, Senator Lipton has developed a relationship with Oscar, but there will obviously be some friction between the three before the end. The absolute best way this could end for everyone involved is for the Senator and Oscar to be together, whilst Angela rekindles her relationship with Dwight thus finally ending their story too.
