The Politician Season 2 Review: 6 Ups & 2 Downs
Ups...
6. It's A Major Improvement On The First Season
The first season of The Politician was dripping in so much potential that, even though it managed to succeed, it still felt like it came up that little bit short. Be it the overly exaggerated tone or just the fact that nobody behaved like real people, there were issues that effected how easily its talented parts worked. That is much, much less of an issue in Season 2.
The truth is that everything about the second season feels fresh. Whether it's the fact that the New York setting - and the high-stakes political race - imbues it with a natural maturity that the first season so desperately wanted to obtain, or that it successfully lives up to the promising cliffhanger that the previous finale set, the show feels revitalized this time around. And as a result, it's much easier to take seriously - even when it doesn't want you to do so.
