The Simpsons: 10 Best Parody Episodes
1. You Only Move Twice
Movie Parody: James Bond
In a Simpsons adventure that can only be described as epic, Homer moves his family to the luxurious Cypress Creek to work for a new company. His new boss - Hank Scorpio - is friendly, sympathetic and unknowingly, a supervillain. Although Homer is loving his new career and lifestyle, the rest of the family feel completely unsettled and unhappy by the change.
This episode is very clever in how it lifts several elements of the classic James Bond movies and intertwines them within the story, from Homer inadvertently killing a character based on Sean Connery's Bond to the ending credit song "Scorpio", a musical piece reminiscent of various Bond themes.
Funny and action-packed, You Only Move Twice still remains a terrific achievement from the show, not to mention Albert Brooks is one of the series' best guest stars.
Allegedly, there were plans for Hank Scorpio to be reprised in The Simpsons Movie as the film's prime antagonist. How great would that have been?
