The Simpsons: 10 Best Treehouse Of Horror Episodes

3. Treehouse Of Horror VIII

The Simpsons Witches Hilariously rated TV-666 after a knife-wielding arm stabs the Fox censor to death, Treehouse of Horror VIII, like our previous entry, is filled to the brim with violence made fun by the Simpsons. In the first of the three segments, Springfield is annihilated by none other than France and for once it isn't Homer's fault! However, Homer is seemingly the last man alive until he discovers that some familiar faces have been mutated into gray-skinned monstrosities with a taste for human skin. "Fly Vs Fly" is a parody of body horror classic "The Fly" as Bart's head is exchanged with that of a housefly leaving him susceptible to its murderous rampages. The reason ToH VIII ranks so high on our list is because these two good segments are featured alongside one of the best segments the series has offered: "Easy Bake Coven." This segments has it all. It's a clever parody of a literary classic, relates directly to Halloween, and puts our favorite characters in the blackest of comedies. We're introduced to new spin on how Halloween began with Marge and her sisters as witches who go door to door demanding delicious children but are offered sweet treats instead. A pretty clever idea from the writers who brought us the guy that eggs his own house, and accuses his own daughter of witchcraft.
