Presented in a stylized spoof of horror anthology series Night Gallery, Treehouse of Horror IV has everything it takes to send chills of excitement down your spine. Every story featured in Treehouse of Horror IV focuses heavily on the theme of Halloween. The devil, vampires, and even gremlins bring on the horror in the second best Treehouse of Horror episode to date. Ned Flanders is the devil in "The Devil and Homer Simpson" battling for Homer's soul after the aforementioned bozo sold it for a donut. "Terror at 5 1/2 Feet" sees Bart take on William Shatner's role from one of the most popular episodes of The Twilight Zone. In a parody of Bram Stoker's Dracula and Salem's Lot, Mr. Burns is a bloodsucking vampire who turns Bart over to his side and it's up to Lisa to save his soul from eternal damnation. Each separate segment in Treehouse of Horror IV carries its own and this distinguishes it from many of the other episodes which usually feature but one or two great segments at most. If you want to get in the Halloween mood there's only one Simpsons special that can do it better than ToH IV.
