The Simpsons: 10 Characters Who Could Definitely Be Killed Off

2. Apu Nahasapeemapetilon

ApuVoiced By: Hank Azaria Will the Kwik-E-Mart employee finally outrun death having already been gunned down as an occupational hazard on a number of occasions, and being killed in at least one Treehouse Of Horrors episode? Chances Of Dying? Apu hasnt been given particularly favourable treatment since the arrival of his army of kids, though he did get a nomination as part of the cast of "Moe Letter Blues" when Moe played the fixer for the relationships of his friends and patrons. As a result, it's hard to actually care too much about the character - he is reasonably entertaining when he gets an opportunity for his own episodes, but the joke of his giant, mostly unwanted brood is wearing a little thin, which is always the way when writers make a bold and irreversible change to the character. Unfortunately for Apu, he has become expendable because his storyline font is probably running a little dry. His saving grace however might be that too few people would actually care in the long-run if he did die. Apu has long been accused of being a racial stereotype, which could be seen as an unwelcome distraction from the show, no matter how unfounded those accusations are (or unnecessary at least, since ALL of the characters are supposed to be stereotypes,) though those same finger-pointers might be a little annoyed if the response to their accusations of bigotry is to kill the character outright. How He Should Die Like a captain going down with his ship, Apu should probably go with the Kwik-E-Mart, perhaps after the appearance of a larger, better supermarket in Springfield (again.)
