1. Lisa’s First Word – Season 4, Episode 10
As the Simpson family attempt to coax baby Maggie into saying
her first word, Marge reminisces and tells the story of Lisa’s first word.
The quintessential heart melter of the show, we are treated to a superb flashback story where Marge discovers she is pregnant again and the family need to find a new home for their growing size. It is also interesting to see that when Lisa was born, Bart actually loathed her out of jealousy.
However, everything is flipped on its head when Bart decides to run away, only to be stopped dead in his tracks when Lisa speaks her first word: “Bart”.
If we thought this episode couldn’t get any sweeter, we cut back to present day with Homer putting Maggie to bed and when she is alone, she utters a single word: “Daddy”.
Nothing could be cuter and more wholesome than this episode.
