40. "Homer's Enemy" S8 E23
Couch Gag: Bart turns green when he sits on the couch then red when Homer fixes the TV. He returns to normal after Homer slaps him on the head
Plot: A new employee joins the Power Plant called Frank Grimes. Despite all Homers efforts to befriend him Grimes takes a strong dislike to Homer thinking him lazy and incompetent. He eventually announces himself Homers enemy. In the sub-plot Bart buys an old factory for a dollar.
Best Gag: Lisa and Marge: ''Can i go downstairs and see what Dad's doing?'' ''I wouldn't bother him honey. He's making some sort of model for a contest. He say's it's really high tech stuff that we wouldn't understand'' (Homer comes out of the basement door) ''Marge, do we have any elbow macroni and glue-on sparkles?''
39. "The Boy Who Knew Too Much" S5 E20
Chalkboard Gag: There are plenty of businesses like show business
Plot: Bart ditches school and, while being chased by Principal Skinner, witnesses an event which leaves Mayor Quimbys nephew on charges of assault. During the trial Bart must decide whether to tell the truth and say Freddie Quimby is innocent and admit playing truant or saynothing and watch an innocent man get convicted of a crime he didn't commit.
Best Gag: Apu pointing out to the judge that jury member Homer is in fact asleep. Cut to Homer, wearing glasses with fake eyes painted on them with drool collecting in the corner of his mouth.
38. "The Last Temptation of Homer" S5 E9
Chalkboard Gag: All work and no play makes Bart a dull boy
Plot: The Power Plant hires a new employee called Mindy who Homer becomes increasingly attracted to as it seems they are perfect for each other but manages to resist temptation and stay faithful to Marge. In the sub-plot Bart becomes a nerd after being prescribed glasses, special shoes and a throat spray which makes his voice change.
Best Gag: Homer and a hotel bellboy: ''And here's your king size bed for...'' (makes a lot of sexy noises) ''Stop that! I love my wife and family. All i'm going to use this bed for is sleeping, eating and maybe building a little fort!''
37. "Homer's Barbershop Quartet" S5 E1
Chalkboard Gag: I will never win an Emmy
Plot: In this Beatles parody, Homer recounts the story of his time in the Be-Sharps, a barbershop quartet featuring him, Seymour Skinner, Apu and Barney who achieved success and fame before it all fell apart.
Best Gag: Grandpa and Jasper are watching the Be-Sharps on stage: ''That's my son up there!'' ''What, the balding fatass?'' ''Er, no, the Hindu guy...''
36. "Whacking Day" S4 E20
Chalkboard Gag: I will return the seeing-eye dog
Plot: On this fictional holiday the residents of Springfield drive snakes into the town square and then club them to death much to the joy of Homer and the despair of Lisa. This episode marks the first appearance of Superintendent Chalmers and a JFK inspired Itchy and Scratchy parody.
Best Gag: Homer's awesome martial arts-snake whacking work out in his back yard. (or possibly the first appearance of Evil Homer singing ''I am Evil Homer'' conga style.)
