Plot: The town of Springfield finds itself in possession of $3 million after Mr Burns is fined for dumping toxic waste. The town is conned into spending the money on purchasing a monorail system. Homer ends up as the driver in danger on its maiden voyage.

Chalkboard Gag: Coffee is not for kids
Plot: Years of unhealthy eating catch up with Homer in this episode which sees Homer having chest pains (which he thinks is his cars transmissionhe is relieved when the mechanic tells him its his heart) and then suffers a heart attack when he is later fired by Mr Burns. With no money his only option is Dr Nick Riviera, who will perform any operation for only $129.95.

Plot: After an argument with Marge, Homer goes drinking in a redneck bar where meets Lurleen Lumpkin, a talented singer working as a waitress. Homer becomes her manager but doesnt realise she is falling in love with him. With Marge jealous Homer must decide between his wife and Lurleen.
Best Gag: Homer: ''Marge, you make it sound so seedy. All I did was spend the afternoon in her trailer watching her try on some outfits...''

Chalkboard Gag: I will not sell land in Florida
Plot: Grandpa tells Homer that he has a half-brother who Homer tracks down. His half-brother, Herbert Powell, is the head of a car company and bonds with the whole familyunfortunately he asks Homer to design his own car which does not end well for Herb.
Best Gag: Grandpa explaining how Herb came to be: ''She did things your mother would never do...like have sex for money''

Chalkboard Gag: Tar is not a plaything
Plot: Homer uses the Power Plant insurance to scam the money he needs to buy Dimoxinil, a miracle hair growing formula. He earns a promotion and hires his own secretary called Karl as his life hugely improves with a full head of hair.
Best Gag: Homer is angry at Bart for wasting his supply of Dimoxinil: ''Okay, i'm not going to kill you but i'm going to tell you three things that are gonna haunt you for the rest of your days. You've ruined your father, you've crippled your family and BALDNESS IS HEREDITARY!''
