If an episode inspires someone to try to genetically engineer tomacco in real life (seriously, look it up), it’s gotta be good for something, right?

This is another one of those “drop the Simpsons into a new setting and let them go nuts” episodes. In order to get out of a duel with a foppish Southern colonel, Homer and the family go on the run and establish a new life at the farm house where Homer grew up. Don’t ask how it’s there after burning down in season 6, The Simpsons has a very on/off relationship with continuity. Desperate to make a sustainable crop, Homer uses plutonium to genetically engineer a tomato/tobacco hybrid (hence the aforementioned tomacco).

From there, there are funny lines (“this tastes like grandma”) and absurd set pieces (the family fending off rabid goats addicted to nicotine) that come together to make a laugh-out-loud romp. Plus, it cannot be understated how brilliant “Glove Slap” is:
