The Simpsons: 15 Best Ever TV Show Parodies & Homages
6. Frasier
Seen in: Brother From Another Series (Season 8, Episode 16) With Frasier Crane himself among the cast, The Simpsons could never resist doing a spoof of the hit sitcom. In season twenty one's The Bob Next Door, Marge finally comments on how Sideshow Bob sounds similar to Kelsey Grammer ("like Frasier on Cheers or Frasier on Frasier"). The best Frasier parody, though, is when Bob's brother arrived in Springfield - and was played by Frasier's brother Niles, David Hyde Pierce. Grammer and Hyde Pierce have just as good chemistry as they do on Frasier, playing two other snooty culture vultures - who just happen to be murderous psychopaths. The best Frasier-esque moment occurs when the pair are in Sideshow Cecil's apartment, which is something of a replica of the Cranes' residence. The scene comes complete with a Frasier-esque title card saying 'Frasier is a hit show on the NBC television network.' The same trick would be pulled again in season nineteen's Funeral For A Fiend in which Frasier's dad John Mahoney appears as Sideshow Bob's father.
