With their well rote formula, action films might be obvious targets for spoofing but the McBain segments from several episodes across the show are always good for a laugh, poking fun at the likes of Die Hard, James Bond and, well, any generic action film you care to mention.

Starring the Schwarzenegger-spoofing Ranier Wolfcastle, the McBain skits are full of the cliches of action films - poor puns (including a Mr Freeze-like "ice to see you"), revenge missions, ridiculous levels of violence and, of course, detectives killed just before retirement.

This one gets extra kudos for - as some savvy fans have realised - just about making a coherent narrative if all the McBain segments from early episodes are put together. Have a watch of the mini-movie above.
