6. Garbage Commissioner - Episode: "Trash Of The Titans"

When Costington's Department Store invent a new public holiday entitled "Love Day", combining the cute hearts of Valentines Day with the Gift-Giving of Christmas, all the trash from the occasion starts to pile up in the Simpson's household, so much so that it begins teetering on the edge of the bin. Each of the family members refuse to take it outside, and agree that whoever tips it over should deal with it.When Homer tips over the trash, he is forced to carry it all outside, missing the garbage collectors by a matter of seconds as the drive past. Cursing them, the garbage collectors hear Homer's disparaging remarks and cut off the family's garbage collection service, that is until Marge writes them a letter of apology behind Homer's back. When garbage collection resumes, Homer triumphantly believes he has "beaten the system", that is until he learn's of Marge's apology. Homer then sets up his own garbage collection service to spite current sanitation commissioner Ray Patterson, and runs against him in an election, which Homer wins by a landslide due to his policy "Can't someone else do it?"
D'oh! How It Goes Wrong Homer's promises of round the clock garbage collections are unfeasible and his company soon becomes bankrupt. He then starts charging other towns to dump their trash under Springfield, but it eventually unearths itself and spills back out into the streets. Mayor Quimby is left with no other option but to uproot Springfield and move it five-miles down the road.
