The Simpsons: Homer's 10 Best Jobs So Far

7. Film Critic - Episode: "A Star Is Burns"

Springfield News Anchor Kent Brockman broadcasts a story claiming Springfield is the most unpopular city in America. In response, Marge suggests that the townsfolk hold a film festival to boost the city's image. Marge, along with film critic Jay Sherman, is placed on the panel to judge each of the residents short film entries. Jay Sherman's presence in the Simpson's house is unwelcome however, especially when Jay demonstrates that he can "out-belch" Homer. Homer also frets that Marge doesn't respect him as much as she does Jay, and a guilty Marge then places Homer on the panel in place of Martin Scorsese, no less. D'oh! How It Goes Wrong When judging the shorts, fellow panelists Mayor Quimby and Krusty the Clown are bribed to vote for Mr Burn's egotistical entry, whilst Marge and Jay vote for Barny's touching film about alcoholism. Homer is left with the deciding vote, and votes for Hans Moleman's "Man Getting Hit By Football" short, which he finds hysterical. After some nagging by Marge however, he changes his mind and votes for Barny's short instead.
