The Sopranos: 10 Funniest Paulie Moments

8. Bread Rolls And Doggy Bags (Eloise. Season 4, Episode 12)

During season four, it was revealed that Paulie is a mama's boy. Regularly interjecting himself into his mother's social life and various friend activities, it was refreshing to see the loving side of the typically ruthless gangster.

Problems with his mother's 'friends' had been developing since her arrival at the Green Grove retirement home however. Paulie had already taken 'assertive' action to prevent his mother from being ostracized at the home in a previous episode and by the end of the season, his intimidating approach to elderly care came to an horrific yet comical climax.

Having dinner with his mother and her friends, a conflict quickly arises when the doggy bags come to the table. Before Paulie and his mother can react, all the bread rolls have been snatched up. Without hesitation, Paulie suspects his mothers friends and with a trademark click of the fingers he swiftly mediates the situation by reclaiming the bread rolls.

Minn is not impressed and clearly the tensions between the two characters are irreconcilable. Later in the episode, the dispute would be settled when Minn is subsequently robbed and killed by Paulie. Whether this punishment was justified... well, you can be the judge!
