The Episode: The Same Boat
How It Happened: After being captured by Paula's group of Saviors, it wasn't long before Carol and Maggie broke free. After Maggie's beating of Molly to death, Carol executed Michelle point-blank and turned Paula herself into a human shish kabab. And yet the duo was still not done, luring Savior reinforcements onto a kill floor, where they trapped them inside and set them ablaze.
Why It's On This List: Carol really took the lead in this episode in making sure nothing bad befell Maggie and her baby, and the sheer precision with which she killed everyone pretty much single-handedly - right down to the kill floor deaths - underscored just how far Carol has come over the years. It was easy to root for Carol and Maggie to come out the other end of the episode unscathed, but the brutality really hammered home the idea that viewers shouldn't be entirely comfortable watching these two characters, once some of the most innocent ones on the show, have bits of their humanity stripped away by their disturbing actions.
