In examining how satisfying a characters death is, the way in which it happens is a crucial factor. This is what makes Loris death so hard to place, since the character was so maligned, but the circumstances of her death were hardly satisfying. The character herself had been unbearable for a while. Her presence also spoke to the general mishandling of female characters on the whole, a factor that would only start being remedied with her absence. And yet, there was a strange touch of emotion to her death. The instance was handled well, featuring a strong final moment between her and Carl. Once again, its hard to call a botched c-section gratifying, but soon after, it was alright to celebrate her departure.
