We can make it, we can make it, Abraham chanted to himself at the close of this week's episode of The Walking Dead, a rare moment of optimism in a show that's often unrelentingly grim (understandable, given the whole premise and all). The scene then smash-cut to the RV he was driving breaking down, a rare moment of comedy in the series for much a similar reason and unlike most challenges, it was one that was quickly overcome. The fifth season has seen The Walking Dead going from strength to strength, but it's also seen some of its darkest moments. The traumatic mid-season finale was followed up by another major character death, and the core cast of characters haven't had much time to mourn the passing of Beth and Tyreese. They had bigger problems on their plate. Specifically, running out of gas, food, and water as they blindly soldiered onto Washington, in the hope there might be somewhere safe there. Then this Aaron guy showed up claiming to offer the shelter they were searching for, but could they believe him...? All round this week's episode of The Walking Dead was one of the strongest in a strong season, and one that offered some much-needed levity, hope and touch wood a happy ending. Which'll probably go out the window in the next instalment, but still. Here are seven things The Distance got right, and three it didn't.
