The Walking Dead: 7 Things "Them" Got Right (And 3 It Didn't)

3. Shooting Dogs

Like, say, suddenly being faced with a pack of starving, possibly rabid dogs who looked like they were going to eat everyone. Fortunately, viewers weren't submitted to a gory, nasty scene like the one from The Walking Dead game (NSFW, obviously), but there was still a sort of gut-punch reaction to the sudden and unannounced slaughter of the pooches. Even in a kill-or-be-killed, no-rules world like The Walking Dead's, it's still something of a shock to see cruelty against animals. That nobody even batted an eyelid as rounds were calmly shot through the dog's skulls, and the group promptly set about cooking and chowing down on the meat, says a lot about where they're at right now. It was another good bit of non-verbal storytelling, revealing a lot about where the characters are, along with highlighting Noah's divide from the group: he isn't quite as eager to start feasting on Fido. Which earns him a good talking to from Sasha. You know he will probably die this season, right?
