The Walking Dead: 8 Major Spoilers For The Second Half Of Season 6

7. Carl Might Lose His Eye

The midseason finale of The Walking Dead concluded with Rick and a number of other survivors all attempting to make their way through the zombie herd. However, seeing as Sam just couldn't keep his mouth shut, it looks like things are about to go horribly wrong, and just like in the comics, set photos appear to have confirmed that Carl is going to end up coming out of this particular battle with a long lasting scar. In the comics, when Jessie refuses to let go of Carl's hand as she and her son are eaten by walkers, Rick is left with no other choice than to cut off her arm. Moments later though, a stray bullet hits Carl square in the eye, leaving a gaping hole in the side of his head. Amazingly (and somewhat unrealistically it could be argued), Carl survives this, and for a long time sports a bandage across his face like those in the image you see above. One report claims that it will be a vengeful Ron who shoots Carl when the boy jumps in front of his father to save him, but regardless of whether or not that's accurate, Chandler Riggs has been spotted on set with bandages wrapped around his head and over his injured eye. While the show may make his injury a little less severe, it's obvious that he's going to be badly wounded at some point in the first few episodes.
