The Walking Dead: Every Season 4 Episode Ranked Worst To Best

7. Internment

The Walking Dead
AMC

The last episode entirely focussed on the prison before The Governor's attack, Internment gives Hershel Greene centre stage, as he works tirelessly to save the flu victims in his care.

Not only is Internment a stunning example of just how invaluable Hershel is, but it's also a scorching race-against-time thriller, as Rick and Carl team-up to destroy a herd in one of the season's best spectacles, and Hershel struggles to save his patients, including a gravely ill Glenn.

An episode that highlights the bravery of one of its greatest unsung heroes, it also allows Rick to find hope for the future thanks to his son, and ends on a high as Daryl, Michonne, Tyreese and Bob arrive just in time with medicine for the sick.

Of course, its final shot reveals The Governor has returned, so it's a happy ending that doesn't last too long...
