The Walking Dead Mid-Season Premiere: 2 Ups & 4 Downs From ‘Adaptation’
3. Rosita's 'Who's The Daddy?' Pregnancy Storyline
The Walking Dead has never been one to dwell on romances and relationships, and that's okay, given the nature of the show. Hookups or date nights aren't important to the characters' day-to-day survival, which is what makes this pregnancy storyline one of the series' worst to date.
It's true that Lori, Rick and Shane had a similar storyline back in the first season, but the point of that narrative was to create conflict among the two protagonists - and it worked successfully. In its current state, TWD barely has rough screen-time to delegate among its several communities, let alone enough to waste on a re-hashed storyline with unimportant characters.
What's more, even ignoring the ridiculous way in which he learned this information, Eugene's involvement in this storyline only makes matters worse, because we now have Gabriel, Siddiq and Eugene all vying for Rosita's affection. This storyline simply doesn't belong in the show.
