The Walking Dead Season 11 Review: 7 Ups & 2 Downs From "Rendition"
1. UP: It Promises Major Twists Going Forward
Between Daryl's trial by fire to unwittingly join the Reapers, Leah's return to the fold, Pope's one-track mind to destroy Maggie's group and even Dog's ownership complexities, Rendition is an episode that promises some major drama in the coming episodes.
The questions are plentiful: Will Daryl attempt to destroy the Reapers from the inside? Will he try to escape, maybe attempting to take Leah with him in the process? How will Maggie, Negan et al find out he's been captured, and how will they react?
Of course, it's fair to say the Reapers aren't going to last long, since the show is going to shift complete focus to the Commonwealth very soon, but even so the threat is still there, and the drama caused by this one episode makes it clear things are going to get worse before they get better.
A massive improvement on last week's episode, Rendition is a hit through-and-through, and here's to hoping the rest of the season follows suit and doesn't waste the narrative potential it's created.
