2. Fringe Characters

In fact, rather than just picking out individual side-characters, you could throw praise at virtually all of them. This was an episode without Rick, Daryl, and Glenn - that's already a big loss, but then you consider that Abraham, Sasha, Michonne, and new guy Heath were all sidelined for Episode 2 along with a few others. With so many characters out of proceedings, and the rest of the fringe characters coming under some form of criticism, it was impressive to seem them all star in such a pivotal episode. It shows that The Walking Dead has depth, and can carry an episode without its biggest names or even a significant walker presence.
