This is not a specific dig at The Walking Dead, more like a plea to all TV shows and film productions everywhere. Stop offering up moronic logic to advance the story.
The show is approaching Season 7 which means every single person we meet now should be hardened in some way to the disaster otherwise they would have died long ago. Therefore, the show needs to stop allowing people to die in unnecessary, downright stupid ways.
In Season 6, they actually believed unleashing thousands of walkers into the world was a good idea to shepherd them away from Alexandria. No. No, that wasn't going to work. It made for a good show, but they could've easily fortified the quarry and eliminated them in batches.
The rescue efforts in the finale that ultimately led to the group being captured by Negan was also born out of sheer stupidity. "Oh, there's a trap, let's run into it." Stories must be natural and not born of moronic decisions.
