The Walking Dead Season 9: 4 Ups & 1 Down From 'The Bridge'

There have been plenty of changes made to The Walking Dead this season, courtesy of new showrunner Angela Kang, and one of the exec's best offerings is the blossoming relationship between Carol Peletier and King Ezekiel. The two have always worked well as a team, and they bring out the best in one another, so pairing them off was an inevitability. Nonetheless, it's a welcome change to see the duo happy, and when you considering the heartache that Carol has endured, it's even rather heartwarming.

Other than when she was putting on the obedient housewife act at Alexandria, it's been a long time since Carol has truly smiled. Genuine happiness isn't something that characters on this show get to experience, but alas, it's possible. Who knew?

The relationship with Ezekiel is not only a great development for the Carol character, but it also serves the show well, as the pair are like chalk and cheese, which means that they clash over the silliest of things. In doing so, however, they put a smile on the viewers' faces.
