The Wire Cast: Where Are They Now?
14. Jamie Hector
If you hate Marlo Stanfield then Jamie Hector did his job right. The young upstart turned Baltimore kingpin was nothing the city hadn’t seen before, but the stoic swagger and ice cold demeanor of the new boss made him seem like far scarier and more ruthless a proposition than anyone we’d laid eyes on up to that point.
For an actor of his calibre, Hector’s filmography is surprisingly slim. Perhaps his most interesting project is Just Another Day, a fun watch for Wire fans as it stars Hector and Wood Harris as, once again, the young pretender and the established top dog, only this time as rappers rather than drug lords.
Hector’s TV credits make for better reading, including a 10 episode arc on Heroes before it truly went off the deep end, and a part on fun horror series The Strain. Better is his major role on Amazon’s Bosch (also starring Lance Reddick) as Detective Jerry Edgar, which allows the actor to have a little more fun than he used to on The Wire, while still exhibiting his chilling intensity.
