The Witcher Season 2: 10 Monsters We Want To See
2. The Crones
The Crones of Crookback Bog were a pure creation of CD Projekt Red, but they felt right at home in the world that Sapowski crafted.
These three disgusting monsters were heavily inspired by the Slavic figure of the Baba Yaga, which became the basis for the modern witch that we know today. They'd be perfect for live-action thanks to the fact that they pose a great threat and look utterly incredible.
One of the most pervasive themes of the first season was Geralt's toil with the concept of the lesser evil. Having to choose between two awful options is never fun, and that's something that The Crones capture perfectly. They aren't necessarily evil as they help communities and people, but the prices they demand are full of malice and sacrifice. This would make them a perfect thematic presence for the show.
This trio of creatures - comprised of the Brewess, Weavess and Whispress - would be tough to bring to life, but if successful they could make for some of the most nightmare inducing creatures in the entirety of live-action fantasy. Plus, they could act as a perfect set of major antagonists for the Butcher of Blaviken.
