The X-Files Revival: 21 WTF Moments From Episodes 3 & 4

7. Super Fan

Pictured above is Pasha, the animal control officer in Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster, played by Kumail Nanjiani - otherwise known as an X-Files superfan. Cool background story: Nanjiani is an aspiring writer/actor whose career seems to be taking off. His first screen credit came in 2008, which, given he's in his late 30s, is a late start, but no matter. He has turned up in the Colbert Report, Burning Love, Drunk History, Sex Tape, Silicon Valley, and now of course The X-Files. On the side, meanwhile, he hosted a podcast known as The X-Files Files, which got noticed in 2014 when it started going through a rewatch of all the "good" episodes of series. He has also written about the show for Vanity Fair. The podcast was a success, and soon managed to land some big names as special guests: Dean Haglund, a.k.a. Langley of The Lone Gunmen, Mark Snow, the composer for every episode of the series, writer Glen Morgan, and even Buffy star Emma Caulfield, also a huge fan of the show. Soon enough, Nanjiani was invited to film a part in the revival, and also hosted the X-Files panel at the most recent Comic Con. A fan turning into an actor on the show? It's a feel-good WTF moment!
