Hollywood icon Debbie Reynolds seems like a perfect fit for The Golden Girls - and indeed, her performance was memorable. Just as noteworthy, though are the potentially catastrophic circumstances under which she meets the gang. Reynolds's Trudy becomes Blanche, Sophia, and Rose's new roommate when Dorothy plans on moving out to marry her ex-husband, Stan! Trudy is an aging Southern belle with a penchant for men and three dead husbands who all left her money. Despite her out-Blanche-ing Blanche, the two immediately take to one another, jointly lying about their ages and swapping tales about the inconvenience of checking into hotels under pseudonyms. When she finally manages to unpack all of her belongings and set up shop in Dorothy's room, however, she has to leave - the bride to be has thankfully called off the wedding following Stan's request that she sign a prenuptial agreement. It's a sitcom, so of course everything had to go back to normal by the end of the two-part episode and it's nice to see the quartet stick together. Still, we can't help but wonder what antics Blanche and Trudy could have gotten into as a pair...
