15. Futurama €“ A Tale Of Two Santas (FOX, 2001)

Bender volunteers to replace the evil Robot Santa who terrorises the world every Christmas. A comedy set in the far future really lets you have some fun when it comes to Christmas episodes. In Futurama, Christmas is a time for fear and packing heat in the hope that you€™ll survive Robot Santa€™s annual massacre. Although this premise was used brilliantly in the show€™s first Christmas episode Xmas Story, here it gets a lot more focus as Bender visits various houses delivering toys but finds himself attacked every time and eventually sentenced to death for the old Santa€™s crimes. It€™s just an inventive premise with a lot of potential that€™s well-realised and has some great dark humour to it. It delivers on many levels and is a welcome departure from conventional Christmas sitcom episodes. Best Moment: The Professor turning the Planet Express building into an armoured fortress complete with Christmas lights that spell out €œTrespassers will be shot€ immediately before sending Fry, Leela, and Bender on a mission to Robot Santa€™s base.
