People loved that in Split!' Whether it was meant to be a red herring or just fan service, the cool moment of seeing Russ Cole and Marty Hart again was negated by its lack of reasoning.
Arkansas and Louisiana share a border so it’s not ludicrous to connect the two, but the cameo felt so out of place that it left fans feeling empty as to what could have been. McConaughey and Harrelson serve as executive producers, so a real cameo wasn’t out of the question, but good on the writer to have the restraint to not go that far with the link.
There is one possible reason for the link to season 1, but many fans who didn’t read between the lines will be surely confused/irritated.
