Vikings: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
2. Season 3
If Season 3 tells us anything, its that being a King is not easy. Here, Ragnar must make choices that cause conflict between his friends, even leading to some of them dying. Ragnar is at the peak of his power, but he is still not satisfied. Driven by his desire to seek out new lands, he plans a raid into Paris. His biggest challenge yet, Paris' towering walls mean he must get creative if he wants to conquer the city.
But not everyone agrees with his decisions as King and conflict is rife. Athelstan takes centre stage for half of the season in the build up to his eventual demise at the hands of Floki. A shocking move no one saw coming, the show plays it off as if Floki is going to get away with it until Ragnar speaks the final words of the season to him, revealing he suspects the truth.
So after being left with a massive cliff-hanger before the beginning of Season 4, the viewer can only speculate about what is going to happen next. Season 3 is full of twists, turns and character deaths, and it fundamentally changes the course of the show forever.
