The Walking Dead: 15 Stupid Decisions Lori Grimes Would Be Proud Of

13. Rick Saves Randall ("Triggerfinger")

Rick has a tough time in Season 2, battling Shane for dominance as he tries to adapt to the lawlessness of the zombie apocalypse. This internal clash of past civility with current savagery is violently exposed when he, Glenn, and Hershel encounter a pair of armed outsiders at the town bar. At first, Dave and Tony seem friendly enough, but their pointed inquiries about the whereabouts €“ and women €“ of the group are troubling enough to set even oblivious Glenn on edge. So, in one of his most awesome moments of the show thus far, Rick pulls out his revolver and shoots both of them dead before either has the chance to fully draw on him. Go Rick! And then, he blows it. When Dave's and Tony's friends show up, Rick yells that the two men are dead and that both sides should go their separate ways peacefully. The suggestion goes about as well as you might expect, and a shootout ensues. Rick and Co. emerge victorious, and a young man who had been firing at them tries to flee by leaping off the roof of an adjacent building...and right onto the spires of an iron gate. Glenn wants to leave him to the Walkers, and Hershel thinks that they should put a bullet in his head. Rick disagrees, and he yanks the man's leg right off of the spire, leaving Glenn and Hershel with no choice but to bring the man who'd been trying to kill them back to the farm. Ultimately, it doesn't work out very well.
