The Walking Dead Season 5: 8 Things That Will Happen

4. The Mission North To Washington DC

With the introduction of Abraham, Eugene and Rosita, the journey North to Washington DC is all but assured. With this part of the comic book being introduced this past season, the show runners and producers dropped a major hint in regards to the direction future episodes and seasons will follow. For the past four seasons, we've seen Rick and his group meander aimlessly across the Atlanta, GA suburbs making stops at Hershel's farm and attempting to establish their own settlement at the prison. It's now time for the show to transition out of Georgia. When fans were first introduced to Abraham, it's made clear they are on a mission to get Eugene to Washington DC, as it's assumed he knows of a potential cure to end the zombie apocalypse. For the sake of those that have not read the comic book, we'll skip over many of the details revolving around this plot and assume it will be a strong narrative piece moving the show forward. However, keep an eye on Abraham as his story is explored deeper while the fate of his family is revealed and he slides into the role of a fan favourite. In the comic book, Abraham and Rick are introduced to one another on rocky terms as they both have the desire to lead and don't always see eye to eye. The two eventually form a strong bond, similar to what fans have seen develop between Daryl and Rick. Although Daryl has arguably become the fan favourite of the show, don't be surprised if he's not cautious of Abraham at first, much the same way Rick was in the comic book. Abraham's acceptance into the group is inevitable but seeing how that happens could make for some stressful television, before culminating in the decision to take up his cause and head to Washington DC.
