Westworld: 10 Biggest Twists - Ranked Worst To Best
1. Theresa's Death
Episode: 7 - Trompe L'Oeil
Shock Factor: 5/5 bullets
Every show has a "Red Wedding" episode, and it looks like Westworld got its back in Episode 7. The already shocking reveal of a secret lab was enough to make your hairs stand on end, but coupled with the creepy robo-family and Theresa double crossing Ford, something didn't feel right. Sidse Babett Knudsen was signed on for fewer episodes than the rest of the main cast, but no one realized that this could possibly spell the end of Theresa Cullen - arguably one of the show's most complex characters, and one we were only just warming to.
As "Trompe L'Oeil" wound to an end, events took a turn for the worst with two huge reveals for the price as one. Not only is Bernard revealed as a robot, but he will be the one to smash his beloved's face into the brickwork. Where the aftermath of main character deaths would be felt long-term in any other show, Ford was simply able to erase Theresa (and the deed) from Bernard's mind, then make her death look like an accident. The audience and Theresa definitely didn't see that wall coming.
