What If...? - 25 Biggest WTF Moments

Every story throughout What If…?, from every different reality, dimension, and universe, is being narrated and watched by Uatu, the Watcher. The cosmic entity can see across the entire multiverse, but has sworn an oath never to interfere but to simply observe.

Jeffrey Wright’s character has been watching everything as it has unfolded throughout the series, but in episode four, there was someone powerful enough, and with enough knowledge of the universe and the cosmos to hear him.

Uatu considered aloud interfering with Strange to stop him from destroying his entire universe, but it wasn’t worth risking the fate of every other universe just to save his. This was the first time that any other character noticed, and heard the Watcher. At the end of the universe, Strange called to him for help, but the Watcher stuck to his oath and just watched as everything crumbled into nothingness around the Sorcerer Supreme.

However, before it did, the Watcher technically interfered, as he spoke with Strange. Even if this was to say he could not help at all, this was still technically interfering. Of course, he would do a lot more than this by the end of the series.
